Women's History Month!
In honor of Women’s History Month, Reclaim Gender Justice Caucus member and Philly NOW leader Karen Bojar chronicled the work and victories of Triple Jeopardy, a small collective of Black feminists in Philadelphia founded in the 1970s. Triple Jeopardy not only engaged in direct action and civil disobedience to advance justice for Black women, but also advocated for other feminist organizations to include a racial justice perspective at a time when intersectionality was sorely missing.
In addition to recognizing the underpaid labor and unpaid domestic labor of women, trans, and nonbinary people, we also uplift the countless hours and immeasurable value of unpaid activism and organizing that has historically been shouldered by Black and brown community members.
