📣 Join Reclaim and Pack City Council for Arena Hearings! 📣

As you already know, the Sixers billionaire owners and the Mayor have proposed an arena in the heart of our city. This downtown sports arena would jeopardize the surrounding neighborhoods, including our cherished and invaluable Chinatown community. The arena would be detrimental to the city for numerous reasons, including concerns about traffic gridlock and safety, quality of arena jobs, decimation of Chinatown small businesses, and the use of public dollars to benefit a few billionaires.

Many questions regarding the plan remain unanswered and unclear, yet the legislation is being pushed through City Council for consideration. This week, City Council started a series of hearings on the arena, which opened with multiple Councilmembers coming out strong against the billionaires and the misplaced priorities of profit over people. We're seeing the tide in Council turn against the arena, and with your help, we can pressure them more to stop it!

Starting next week, there are five days of public testimony for community voices, and we need your help to fill City Hall in support of No Arena testifiers!

It’s easy! Call 215-686-3407 or email arena.hearings@phila.gov by 3pm on the day before the hearing. You must provide the following information:

  1. Full name

  2. Phone number

  3. Identify the bill number you are speaking on. Each day has different bills assigned to it! You want to make sure you pick a bill number that correlates with your hearing date. Here is a general bill regarding the whole arena for each hearing date that you can use:

    • Tuesday November 19, 1:30-4pm – Bill #240966

    • Wednesday November 20, 10am-12:30pm – Bill #240966

    • Thursday November 21, 6-9pm – Bill #240966

    • Tuesday November 26, 1:30-4pm – Bill #240963

    • Monday December 2, 6-9pm – Bill #240963
