What is the Prison Industrial Complex (PIC)? What is the difference between punishment and justice? What does community safety look and feel like? What do we need to build within our communities so people truly feel like there is no need for police and prisons? These are some of the questions we aim to answer in this political education series!
The Mass Liberation School is a 9-week series for community members to gain a deeper understanding of the PIC, transformative justice, community accountability, and other abolitionist frameworks. This will also be a space for everyone to reflect on the roles each of us should play in creating police- and prison-free communities.
Sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm beginning on March 17th. Sessions will be facilitated by movement leaders and experts from fields like Domestic Violence Prevention.
