Non Violent Direct Action Training

Join Philly Thrive, Cobbs Creek Environmental Justice and EQAT for a Non Violent Direct Action Training

”Decisions affecting our lives are being made without us & against our best interests. Our voices are not being heard. In times like these throughout history, people have turned to nonviolent direct action, using our people power to disrupt injustices taking place directly, without needing anyone else to stop the injustice for us.

This training will prepare residents to stand for real environmental justice as Philly's historic refinery redevelopment progresses. This training will also build participants' skills organizing protests across issues and campaigns. Whether you're fighting for affordable housing, standing against incarceration, or organizing to protect green space and community resources, join us to deepen your understanding of why direct action works, to role play direct action scenarios, and to explore specific action possibilities.

Real environmental justice at this PES refinery site is overdue, and we have to stop this culture of disrespectful development across Philly neighborhoods. It's time for bold action that can shift the direction our city is headed where residents are ignored, displaced, and built over top of.”
