Tax Day: Families over Billionaires Rally

  • Philadelphia City Hall 1400 John F Kennedy Blvd Philadelphia, PA United States (map)

Join Philadelphia and Pennsylvania advocacy organizations to say NO to tax breaks for the ultra-rich and wealthy corporations whether they come from city, state, or federal governments

Come support fair taxes that ask the rich and wealthy businesses to pay their fair share of the taxes to support the essential services that make our lives better and are the real source of prosperity for all.

Stand against: – The extension and expansion of the 2017 Trump tax cuts which overwhelmingly benefit the ultra-rich and wealth corporations as well as tariffs that will raise taxes for working people. – A state tax system in which the top 1% pay at half the rate of the bottom 20% – The elimination of Philadelphia’s Business Income and Receipt Tax (BIRT), a massive tax giveaway to wealthy businesses and the rich in Philadelphia.

Stand for – A federal billionaire’s tax to ensure that on the richest Americans pay their fair share. – A Pennsylvania Fair Share Tax that raises revenue from the wealthiest Pennsylvanians. – A wage tax cut for people with low-incomes; and protection for small business facing a business tax increase.

And we call for these new revenues to be spent improving public services including education at all levels of government, strengthening the safety net that ensures that everyone can secure food, health care, and child care; and reducing the entrenched poverty that affects too many Philadelphians.
