Join your Fairmount/Brewerytown neighbors for a reflection on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s piece "On Being a Good Neighbor" during MLK Day of Service. This will be an opportunity to learn together about Dr. King's philosophies and beliefs, which is especially important when many popular narratives about his legacy reduce it to digestible sound bites.
Neighbors in LoMo, Whitman, and lower East Passyunk, come join us for our last meeting of the year! We’ll take a look at what’s ahead for Reclaim in 2022, and spend the rest of the hour socializing and connecting with each other.

In this training we'll learn concrete skills to support the victims of domestic violence in our lives. We will leave with a clear picture of how to support someone, and what the resources are here in Philadelphia. This will be a very special event and we hope you can join us on Zoom. Feel free to invite friends and family who you think might be interested in this workshop. All are welcome.
Join the Ward 1 Neighborhood group for our quarterly meeting. Come join in as we share in the collective work of building strong communities and pushing for a better world.

We’ll be reconnecting with our neighbors after a long summer break, and talking about opportunities to engage with voters all across our ward. We’ll also hear updates from Reclaim leaders on our recent accomplishments and where we are headed in the future.
At this general meeting, we’ll focus on our relationship-building efforts. We’ll reflect together on what it means to do collective social change work in our neighborhoods through a short reading, small group conversations, and relationship mapping — sharing which organizations we are involved in within our area and why. We’ll consider how Reclaim’s work aligns with the work of other organizations in the neighborhood, and how we can leverage our existing relationships to be in solidarity with those already working to make life better for us and our neighbors.
We’re excited to be planning our first ever in-person meeting for Reclaim Philadelphia in Ward 39! We’ll meet in Mifflin Square Park between 5th and 6th and Wolf and Ritner; bring a chair or a blanket, and come meet your neighbors and fellow South Philly progressives. Ward 39 is South Philadelphia east of Broad St. and south of Mifflin St., except between Broad and 10th where it stretches up to Tasker St. It includes LoMo, Whitman, and parts of East Passyunk. The Ward 39 neighborhood group meets the last Thursday of every month, 7-8:10 pm, except for the month of July.
During our meeting in February, we discussed launching a community needs assessment to get a sense of what our neighbors in Ward 30 need and want in this neighborhood. For example, what kind of mutual aid would be helpful? Is there development happening that we can lobby the city to stop? We will be hosting a meeting on May 15th at 11 AM to discuss the preliminary draft of the needs assessment and how we can get it out to our neighbors.
At our next meeting we will hear an update from neighbors on our local campaign efforts: 21st/38th Ward Politics, Mutual Aid, and local environment care and preservation. We’ll also hear updates from Reclaim task forces/caucuses and news about the DA and judicial races in the final week before the May primary! We look forward to seeing everyone on May 13th and discussing more!
April’s Brewerytown/Fairmount Neighborhood Meeting will focus on Reclaim’s electoral strategy and the fast-approaching primary elections. We will continue an ongoing discussion about committee people and ward leaders, the transition from a closed ward to an open ward, and Reclaim’s various organizational partnerships. How are different groups around the city working towards change and how can we work with them to build power in our neighborhood? Come and find out about ways to get involved, including primary canvassing opportunities.
Learning about local Philly politics can be intimidating. Ward leaders, committee people, at-large seats—it can feel like a lot. If it's ever felt that way to you, or you want to brush up on your knowledge, Reclaim Fairmount/Brewerytown is offering a crash course on March 30th. We'll be covering the essential structures of the Philly political scene, particularly with the spring primaries coming up in May. Please let us know if you have any questions or topics you hope we cover in your RSVP and we'll see you soon!
Hang out with your neighbors in the 2nd ward! We are opening up a recurring space for decompression, conversation, and fun! Let’s connect with each other over politics, music, recipes, and more! This is an informal social meetup that remains open to any and all contributions and ideas.
We will be calling through a list of W/SW Reclaim members and previous W/SW Philly Votes volunteers to recruit them for a canvassing shift on the weekends of 3/27-28, 4/3-4, and 4/10-11.
At our next meeting we will use our breakout group time to discuss community member interest in our local campaigns: running for Ward/Division Committee Person or Judge of Elections, supporting Mutual Aid and local Food Banks, Wissahickon Creek and Green Spaces Preservation, or assisting in liaison efforts with our communities’ Registered Community Organizations. When entering your RSVP information please select which breakout group you are most interested in joining and discussing more with your fellow community members. We look forward to seeing everyone on March 11 and discussing more!
